Terms of Use

Effective date: 5 November 2026. Last updated: 5 November 2026. These Terms of Use apply to Graycouch 2.0 and later.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Teak Yhean Lai, an individual developer in Malaysia who runs Graycouch (“Graycouch”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Graycouch iPhone app, its share extension and the Graycouch website at graycouch.app (together, the “Service”).

Graycouch isn’t currently offered in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Graycouch.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data: https://graycouch.app/privacy.

2. What Graycouch is

Graycouch is a personal link saver. You save links from other apps through the iOS share sheet. Graycouch suggests a category and short title for each save on your device, reminds you about saves with notifications on your device, and lets you search your saves. Your saves are private to you. Graycouch has no sharing, groups, comments, invites or public profiles.

Graycouch is free. It has no ads. We don’t sell your data or show ads.

3. Who can use Graycouch

  • You must be at least 13, wherever you live. We rely on our contract with you, not on consent, to run Graycouch. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, please use Graycouch with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

  • You must be able to form a binding agreement (or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission), and the law must not stop you from using the Service.

  • You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at hello@graycouch.app if you think someone else is using it.

4. Your content

“Your content” means what you add to Graycouch: links, categories, short titles and reminder notes.

You keep ownership. You own your content, or you have the rights you need to save it. We don’t claim ownership of it.

The licence you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display your content only to run and secure the Service for you. This includes storing the link and its preview details (such as the preview title, the page’s own description, the site name and the image web address), the category, the short title, and any reminder time and reminder note with your save. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for backups we remove within our normal retention periods and where the law requires us to keep something.

Content from other people and sites. Saved links point to things other people made. Saving a link doesn’t give you or us any rights in what it points to.

Link previews. Link previews (titles and images) come from the websites you save and belong to their owners. Graycouch shows them only to you, for your personal reference. If you own content and want a preview removed, contact hello@graycouch.app.

5. Acceptable use

Your saves are private, but you still agree not to:

  • use Graycouch to store, share or promote anything illegal, including content that exploits or endangers children

  • use Graycouch to infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights

  • send malware, or use the Service to send spam or harmful links

  • access, scrape or collect data from Graycouch by automated means, or try to break, overload or get around its security or usage limits

  • copy, change, reverse-engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it

We may remove content or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, or where the law requires it (see section 8). We only look at your saves to fix a problem you report to us, or when the law requires it.

6. Category suggestions

Graycouch suggests a category and short title for each save on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device models where your iPhone supports them, and otherwise a method built into the app that also runs on your device. The suggestion is made on your iPhone from the link, its preview details and any caption from the app you share from. The caption isn’t saved or sent to us. Only the category and short title you keep are saved with your save. Nothing from this step is sent to any AI provider. Suggestions are made automatically and can be wrong; you can change a save’s category.

  • Previews show what the saved site provides and can be out of date. Check important details, such as dates and prices, with the original source before you rely on them. The original link stays on every save.

  • We don’t guarantee that every link shows a preview. If it doesn’t, your save still keeps the link.

7. Third-party links and services

Saved links open other websites and apps. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability, prices, products or privacy practices. Anything you buy or book there is between you and that service, under its own terms. Graycouch isn’t connected to or endorsed by the sites you save, unless we say so. You are responsible for following the terms of any app or site you share from.

8. Ending your use of Graycouch

You can stop at any time. You can delete your account from inside the app in Settings. This deletes your account, your saves and reminders, and revokes Graycouch’s Sign in with Apple tokens. Your account data is deleted within 30 days, and from backups and logs within 7 days after that. See the Privacy Policy for other copies.

We can suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk or harm for others or for Graycouch. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. We may also stop offering the Service, or part of it. If we close Graycouch, we will try to give you reasonable notice and a chance to take a copy of your data.

Sections 4 (only as described there), 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 still apply after these Terms end.

9. Disclaimers

We work hard to make Graycouch useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that the Service will always be available, error-free or secure, that every link will show a preview, that reminders will always arrive, or that category suggestions or previews will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • We aren’t liable for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable when you started using Graycouch, or for loss of profits or business opportunities.

  • We aren’t liable for third-party sites or services you open from Graycouch, or for decisions you make based on previews or category suggestions.

  • Our total liability to you for all claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is higher. If you’re a consumer in Malaysia, this cap doesn’t apply to liability for our negligence.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else the law that applies to you doesn’t allow us to exclude or limit. That includes your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia), the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) and EU consumer law.

11. Apple and the Standard EULA

Your use of the Graycouch app is covered by both Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) and these Terms. These Terms add to the Standard EULA for anything it doesn’t cover. These Terms are between you and Graycouch, not Apple. Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us at the contact details in section 15.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute about them or the Service. This doesn’t take away any rights you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at hello@graycouch.app so we can try to sort it out.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we add features. We will change the dates at the top. For material changes, we will give you 30 days’ notice in the app or by email before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using Graycouch after that, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

14. General

  • If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.

  • If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up.

  • You can’t transfer your rights under these Terms to someone else without our permission. We may transfer ours if Graycouch is transferred to someone else, and we will tell you if that happens.

  • These Terms, Apple’s Standard EULA and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
